A Vessel of Mercy
Andrew Cho

I was born in Korea and came to this country in 1993. At that time I was a nominal Christian. A year later I moved from Texas to California and shortly after arriving was introduced to a group of Christian brothers and sisters involved in Christian Students at UCI. I began to meet with some brother on campus informally to pray, and fellowship; many times I opened up my situation and received help. It was such a sweet, intimate gathering in the Lord. During this time I realized that I am not strong enough to deal with all of life’s circumstances and difficulties by myself. I need others help, support, and encouragement to go on. This is especially true on a college campus where there are a lot of trends, philosophies and teachings not in line with God’s thought and will according to the Bible. By coming together on campus in various ways, at different places, and at any time, I was strengthened together with others to stand on what we believed as our faith.

I also realized that each brother and sister had a precious portion in the Lord. By sharing with one another, our experiences of Christ became richer and higher. I really treasure the experiences of Christ with all the brothers and sisters at Christian Students at UCI. Through the mutual care and love for one another in the Lord I experienced not being distracted by so many things on the college campus but instead growing and going further in the Lord with a group of young pursuing Christian brothers and sisters. I thank the Lord for His mercy. By His mercy, I became a Christian, and I am still pursing Him with other Christians. According to Romans 9, I feel I am just a vessel of mercy; that is just a vessel to love and pursue Him according to His great mercy. Praise God!
